As I'm sure the vast majority of us know, being a professional artist is difficult. Trying to monetize a hobby is scary. Will it burn you out? What if no one likes your work? What if you get hit by art block in the middle of a commission?
Lots of artists see other artists making money off of their work and think, "Hey, I draw too! I can make money as well!" and while this is possibly true, I've noticed that a lot of artists go about this all wrong. They're charging too little, or way too much, or they're not taking it seriously enough.
I'm here today to offer everyone a bunch of tips on how to get better at selling your work, and to stop you from making big mistakes you may end up regretting.
1.) Know and accept that there’s a high chance you won’t make enough to totally support yourself.
